Transformation is a powerful word that can mean different things to different people. It's a journey of discovery, growth, and change that has taken many forms throughout my life. Recently, I had the opportunity to experience a physical and emotional transformation, which was a reminder of how far I've come.
I was in the area of my first apartment as a single 35 years ago, I couldn't help but reflect on the road that led me to where I am today. It was a long and, at times, treacherous journey, with hills, valleys, twists, and turns. But it was also a journey that led me home, where I had to take one last shot.
The physical transformation was for a branding photoshoot with Ranka Photography, where I was transformed for the day. We had a blast listening to some of my 80s favorites from Guns & Roses and Bon Jovi, and we had lots of outfit changes to reflect the many facets of my personality and layers of life that brought about wisdom gained only through experience.
But more than just a physical transformation, that day was a reminder that I was transformed from a broken 20-year-old young lady to a restored, beautiful woman. I am created in the image of God. It was a reminder that transformation is not about the destination, but about the journey and the person you become along the way. God cares about who we become.
So, if you're on a transformation journey, embrace it fully. Embrace the challenges, the setbacks, and the victories. Embrace the person you are becoming, and be proud of the person you have been. Remember, transformation is a journey of discovery, growth, and change, and it's a journey worth taking.
